Teaching Tip: When your American History or World History class is beginning to study a region (such as the start of a lesson on the U.S. Civil War), give your kids the printable version of the Southern States quiz as bell work. This will: (1) Give you an idea of where the kids are at in terms of understanding the geography of the southern states, (2) Serve as a jumping-off point for study of the Confederacy.
